Week 6 ~heart beats ♥

Welcome week six...well, actually today as I type Im 6 weeks and 1 day.  We went away over the weekend with some friends of ours.  We arrived home today and as I eat my takeaway thai I type.  Im almost ready for bed as Im so, so tired. We went out to Warwick, about 2 1/2 hours west of home.  Was a fantastic winter weekend, but was very cautious as we went horseriding and some of the roads we went on were very rocky and bumpy...eeek. But baby was on my mind the whole time and I did all i could for a smooth time.  On top of it, our friends dont know Im pregnant yet so keeping it hush hush was hard.  Esp. when the champagne came out.  I did the whole "thankyou" and snuck it to Andrew, my husband to swig when noone could see.  Hopefully!

PERSONAL UPDATE
Apart from that I feel ok.  Still SOOOOO tired! I didnt sleep so well while away but I also think the baby hormones arent helping.  Sickness hasnt realy kicked in as yet.  I felt a little queesy on Friday morning but nothing major.  Headaches again today.  I have been very light-headed and veige.
Still dont look pregnant, but feeling bloated.
It also got a big fat 'pregnancy pimple' on my face as I have with all my pregnancies so far, LOL.
I saw my g.p last wednesday and got 2 blood test.  This is to check my hormone levels are rising as fast as they should and are going up as they should.  I recieved the results today and all is well.  Even though I knew I was pregnant {as 150 thousand Home pregnancy test had shown, LOL} but it kinda feels even more real now that a blood test has confirmed.
Im also due to get a scan to see baby's heart beat.  As Ive had a miscarraige I like to do this as I freak a tad.  So this week, I'll be getting a 6-week scan.  I guess too, we'll be seeing if there are two in there as well, hehe...eeeek! {I love my kids but, twins......eeeek!!!}

BABY UPDATE
Its a very exciting week as bubbas heart begings beating and pumping. YAY!

The embryo's spinal cord is clearly curved as it begins to develop. The pale-yellow ridgelike structures along the back are somites-baby's developing muscular system.

  • The embryo has reached a size of about 8 mm (1/4 inch) in length.
  • The spinal cord, which until now has been open, is beginning to close.
  • The first blood cells and blood vessels are developing.
  • Blood moves through these primitive vessels connected to the yolk sac.
  • A pipe-shaped heart is formed and begins to beat.
  • The brain begins to divide into 5 parts.
  • Optic pits form the start of the developing eye.
  • The cells destined to be the arms and legs are in place.

  • At this time the embryo is still smaller than the size of a raisin.

Low on the sides of the head are two folds of tissue that will become the ears. Although not completely developed, all the major body organs and systems are formed. The heart also forms, and it begins to beat on the 25th day after conception (about 6 weeks after the last menstrual period), and a heart beat can already be detected.

The neural tube enlarges into three parts, that will soon to develop to become a very complex brain. Also the placenta begins functioning, known as the chorionic villi and the umbilical cord, through which the baby will receive nourishment and oxygen. The spine and spinal cord grows faster than the rest of the body at this stage and will give the appearance of a tail. This will disappear as the baby continues to grow.

Awww..its a baby (kind of, hehe)

Anyway...Im off to bed.  I can barely keep my eyes open.  I will update in the next few days with the start of my pregnancy photos.

    ♥ sweet dreams ♥

    WEEK 5 ~ Finding out!

So, as the above post explained...we just found we're pregnant.  Not just me but my husband, My daughter and my son.
Miss Mimi, my daughter who is now 9 years old and Tee, our son {nicknames of course} are all part of this beautiful journey.  With all this talk for the past few years of 'should we or shouldnt we?' has been a topic of many discussions...with our kids too.
Fortunatly, both my kids are very 'maternal' if you can call children that.  They are so gentle and lovely with babies and other children.
I know they will give me grandbabies one day.
They realy, realy wanted me to have another.  So you can imagine my excitement when I found out.  I was busting to tell them.  Hubby and I discussed what we should do.
On one hand, I wanted to share this with them as I knew we would end up letting somthing slip, we hadnt even gone 48 hours without nearly 'spilling the beans', and I realy didnt want them to find out that way.
Also, I just wanted to tell them!!!!!!!!!!  I couldnt wait!!!!
On the other hand, I was concirned that if anything 'sad' were to happen I know they will be devestated. I dont want this.
I also am concerned that they could tell someone...but in the end, we thought thats a risk we'll take.
    So today we told them!

So exciting.  Both were so happy! they couldnt stop hugging us and telling us how much they love us {dad and I}.  Miss Mimi, kept smiling.  She is just beside herself.  The grin on her face said it all.
Tee was also very happy and said " I cant believe your having a real baby, in real life" and "there's actually a real baby in your tummy, mum".
    Too cute!
So, I am happy we told them.

    PERSONAL UPDATE...
As far as I go, healthwise I started the pregancy and breastfeeding multivitamins this morning.  I have started feeling realy, realy tired.  Also, peeing a little more than normal.
Ive been feeling some tightness in my groin area and a little achey...period like.
Last night I hadnt eaten dinner early and I was in the car.  I felt realy car sick...not sure if it was the prenancy or just the car, lol.
Also, today I didnt have lunch till about 3 and man, I was feeling very unwell.  Dizzy, headachy and ill.  Once I ate I felt a little better but still queesy.

I remeber with my last two pregnacies it was the evenings the 'morning sickness' kicked it, looks like it may be the same with this one.
I have had realy bad headaches for a couple of weeks now...actually that was what made me think i was getting my period before I knew.  I usually get a 'period headache' the day or night before i get my period and thats my sign...but this time nothing.  But the headaches have stuck around, UGH!

Moody, emotional....PMT like.  YUP!  Unfortuantly I get the tears and the grumps...so family, buckle up, LOL.

GAS...Oh man...what can I say But PHEW!  My poor husband and kids.  I do feel for them.  I just cant stop. :s
With that I feel very bloated.  I feel like a little fatty already, hehe.

My breast have been a tad tender, but nothing major.

I go through spurts of hunger then spurts of not wanting to eat.  I could devour 3 hamburgers, if i was allowed, heehee...then 3 hours later not be interested in even thinking about food.

I wont be drinking alcahol AT ALL, through this pregnacy {as I've done with the last 2}, and thats a good thing cos Ive realy gone off alcahol.  I dont even miss my weekend glass of merlot...ugh!

    BABY UPDATE...
Little beans heart, no bigger than a poppyseed, has already begun to beat and pump blood. The heart is dividing into chambers and will find a more regular rhythm soon. Bubby itself is about half a centimetre long and looks more like a tadpole than a human. It undergoes a growth spurt this week.

Major organs, including the kidneys and liver, begin to grow. The neural tube, which connects the brain and spinal cord, will close this week. Bubby's upper and lower limb buds begin to sprout -- these will form baby's arms and legs. The intestines are developing and the appendix is in place.

Below the opening that will later form baby's mouth, small folds exist where the neck and the lower jaw eventually develop. As early as this week, facial features are already forming. Nostrils are becoming distinct and the earliest version of the eyes' retinas are forming.

    Wow, pretty amazing stuff huh?

    Our New journey!

Welcome! This is my 2nd Blog that I just begun.  My other "main" blog you can find here.  That Blog is called 'our nest' and that blog I've had for a couple of years now.
The reason for this blog is that I want to blog exclusivly about our latest new adventure.  You can guess what that is from the title, LOL.
Yes, we are expecting a new baby!!  YAY!
Here is a little run down of our story so far....
I met my wonderful, wonderful husband back in 1996 when i was just 17.  We fell in love and we married in November 1998...the Best thing we EVER did!  I love that guy!
In 2002, we found out we were expecting our first baby.  We were very, very happy.  Although we wanted to wait 5 years, once we got that news...all that didnt matter.
All was pretty straight foward.   Not feeling too sick, not much in the way of cravings.  In April 2002, at 15 weeks pregnant I started spotting.
That sickening, horrorfying feeling in the pit of my stomach came.  I instantly broke down and sobbed.  I just knew.
A trip to the E.R confirmed the bad news.  A long story short, a few days later I was admitted for a D & C and that was the most empty, sad feeling.  I cant even begin to explain.

Two months later, when all was settled with my body we got the green light to try again.  Right on Cue...we fell pregnant again that month!!
    We were very lucky.

At 12.36am Friday, 28th March 2008 {after a 27 hour labour} we welcomed Our beautiful, amazing, precoiuse little girl into the world.  That was such a surreal moment.

When our baby girl turned 14 months,  We once again we were thrilled to discover bub number 2 was on their way.
At 7.30am Friday 8th February 2005 We met the most amazing, handsome little man.  Our son.  Our little dude!

For the past 7 years, hubby and I have been tossing up whether we should have another.  Weighing up the pro's and cons...well they were kinda equal, so it has been a VERY , VERY hard choice to make.  Ever since I was 9 years old I said I would have "3 babies". We knew we always wanted another...we just needed a 'woopsy' to force that decision. LOL.

On saturday 19th May 2012, I got my period...4 weeks later, around the 16th June I was to get my next one.  It never came.  Sometimes my period can do this.  I have been known to be 'late' at times.  Sometimes going 5 weeks.  But a few more days past and I was getting suspicious.
I told my hubby I was going to get a Home pregnancy test and he said "nah, just wait another week"...are you kidding me!!!???
Once I have my mind set I have to test.  This was what I got...

FRIDAY 22nd June 2012 test done at 3.30pm...6 Days late...

So, so feint...I almost thought I was imagining.  I had to hold it up to the light and kinda squint to see anything.  Hubby told me it was all in my head.  He 'claimed'  he couldnt see anything.   What do you think?

SATURDAY 23rd June 2012 taken at 8am...7 days late

Yep...Im pretty convinced theres a line.  Hubby still deny's...but with a silly grin, LOL.

SUNDAY 24th June 2012 Taken at 9am...8 days late.

Ah, yeah...we're PREGNANT!  Hubby couldnt deny this.  Even though its still not DARK, DARK...there is a line...and that line keeps popping up, ever darker each day.

That makes me 5 weeks pregnant.
    {I have to still make a doctors appointment to confirm with blood test, scans etc...I still freak a little with the whole miscarrage thing.}

Ok, so we are having a baby!!  A little aprehensive...but alot happy.  Not planned exactly, but defintly wanted.

This blog will be a week-by-week diary/journal of our baby bean.  I plan to journal what happens as a keepsake for my baby.
For my other two, I did this by hand but with one, ive decided to do it online.

Feel free to follow my, our journey as a family, as we go from 4 and become 5.
    Here we go...
